The time has come for you to stop doing crunches. Crunches weaken your core. That is because crunches separate your outermost abdominal muscles and you cannot have a strong core if these muscles are separated.

Separated muscles are called diastasis recti.

You are probably wondering, “why should I care if my abdominal muscles are separated?

The reason is that separated muscles cannot do their job of supporting your back and your organs. When they separate the connective tissue joining your outermost abdominal muscles stretches sideways and becomes the support system. And stretched out connective tissue is NOT a good support system. A weakened supported system puts you at risk for side effects such as back pain, umbilical hernia, pelvic floor problems,, GI issues such as bloating after eating and constipation, poor posture to mention a few. So stop doing crunches so you don’t create a diastasis or if you have one separate your muscles more.

My Tupler Technique Program will bring your abdominal muscles together and keep them together. You can only have a strong core and flat abs if your abdominal muscles are close together. My program will teach you a workout that is diastasis safe where you use your abdominals with every repetition of every exercise that you do.
