About D. “Amaadi” Coleman
D. “Amaadi” Coleman, also known as The Belly Therapist®, is the Founder of Fit Tribe Wellness LLC. With over a decade of experience as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, Amaadi has made significant contributions to the wellness industry. She is passionate about educating, motivating, and empowering women to lead healthy lifestyles.
Amaadi holds an M.A. in Public Policy from George Washington University and a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland at College Park. Her background in research analysis and data management in the criminal justice and maternal and child health fields has equipped her with unique skills that she applies to her wellness practice.
Fit Tribe Wellness
Fit Tribe Wellness LLC is Amaadi's brainchild, focusing on holistic health and wellness. The organization aims to support women, particularly postpartum mothers, through tailored fitness programs and providing community support. Amaadi's vision is to create a safe space where women can achieve their health and wellness goals after giving birth.
Belly Therapy Program
The Belly Therapy program, created by Amaadi, is designed to address diastasis recti and its symptoms naturally. This innovative program combines the principles of the Tupler Technique® with Amaadi's unique approach to healing and strengthening the core muscles. Many women have benefited from this program, experiencing significant improvements in their physical health and overall well-being.
Community Impact
Amaadi is deeply committed to giving back to the community. She has partnered with nonprofits such as MomCares, The Bloom Collective, Detroit Mama Hub, and Okionu Birth Foundation to extend her reach and support more mothers in need of postpartum services. Her work has touched the lives of many, providing much-needed support and resources to those who need it most.
Awards and Recognitions
Amaadi's dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed. She has received numerous small business fellowships and grants, including the Empowered Women International (an LEDC program), BELL Revival Business Entrepreneur Program, Blkbtrfly, and the Associated Black Charities Board Pipeline program. Most recently, she was awarded the 2023 BASE Network Grant and the 2024 Comcast Rise Grant.
In addition to her entrepreneurial achievements, Amaadi serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for The Joy of Living and Co-chair for Bmore Empowered. These nonprofits are dedicated to empowering girls and women of color, aligning with Amaadi's mission to support and uplift women in her community.
