WHAT IS THE TOGETHER TAPE AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

This tape is used to help with repairing your diastasis recti recover.

To aid in the healing process, it is used in combination with the diastasis rehab splint. You can use the tape on its own if you are unable to wear the diastasis rehab splint for whatever reason.

The tape works similarly to a Butterfly Band-Aid in bringing the muscles and connective tissue together. When the tape is stretched while being applied, it pulls back to its original "un-stretched" position once it is applied to the skin. The constant recoiling of the skin provides messages to the connective tissue and muscles, encouraging them to move in the same direction as the tape.

WHEN SHOULD THE TOGETHER TAPETM BE USED?

I recommend not using it for the first four weeks of the Tupler Technique Program® since the skin on your tummy is quite sensitive. To prepare the skin, apply our corrective connective tissue cream. Because of this sensitivity, we'll start gradually with the tape, using one above and one below the belly button for the first few sessions.

So, in week one, we'll do one above and one below the belly button.

If week two goes well, we'll use two above and two below, and if week three goes well, we'll use three above and three below, and you'll wear three above and three below every time you wear it for the length of the program.

Normally, the tape is left on your skin for four to six days. Allow for a day to rest between applications before reapplying the Corrective Connective Tissue Cream™.

Although the tape is water resistant, it is not waterproof. As a result, be careful not to over-wet it when showering.

If you have an allergic reaction to the tape, stop using it right away, wait a week, use the Corrective Connective Tissue Cream™, and then resume. It is necessary to condition the skin and ensure that it is safe to continue.
